Eventsforce and Queen Margaret University Boost Student IT Skills

Eventsforce has announced a partnership with Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh to enable the university to enhance their Events Management degree programme and boost student employability.

The partnership will provide students with a practical understanding and hands-on experience of the key technologies currently shaping and driving forward successful event management practices. In a tough and fiercely competitive events industry, and an overall challenging job market, this will give them an added advantage over other graduates and boost their career opportunities.

George Sirius, CEO of Eventsforce, commented: “I am delighted to be able to announce our latest education sector partnership with Queen Margaret University. Eventsforce remains committed to supporting and developing the events industry and nurturing the next generation of event professionals is a key part of this.”

“There is a huge demand in the events industry for graduates in possession of the practical skills and technology experience necessary to enable them to hit the ground running in their new roles. Enhancing their academic qualifications with a solid understanding of our suite of event management solutions will not only benefit the students by boosting their employability, but will also help the industry find the best of the next generation of event professionals.”

Professor Joe Goldblatt, Director of the International Centre for the Study of Planned Events at Queen Margaret University commented, “An increasingly competitive graduate employment market means that students are now demanding more from their degree programmes than ever before. Top of the list is the understanding that for prospective event professionals, technology and industry experience is a key differentiator. Employers are demanding that graduates are able to start contributing day one, and having hands-on experience of event management solutions such as Eventsforce means that our students are able to confidently meet these demands safe in the knowledge that they have the skills and experience to compete and excel as a new event professional.”
