There’s lots going on in Eventsforce at the moment but this month I really wanted to draw your attention to our integrations and APIs. Within the events industry, the subject of integrating event software with existing CRM and Finance systems has never been more popular. I find myself being asked the same questions time and time again by event professionals motivated to deliver cutting edge technology and seamless integrations between their existing systems and their event technology, both to their event teams and to the wider business.

To me, the repetition of these questions shows that for many event professionals, the wider business is demanding more from events teams than ever before, with the data generated by events now being of key strategic value to multiple departments. Data in silos is no longer acceptable.  Eventsforce can help.

I’ve outlined below some of the questions I am asked most frequently, as well as the answers proven most beneficial:

Q: We spend a lot of time manually entering transactions into our finance system. How can you help?

A: We have developed a comprehensive API with web services which allow our customers to create custom integrations into their own systems. You can potentially integrate your event data with any web based finance system that is able to accept data from our web service.

Q: Can you help us integrate registration details with our membership database?

A: Yes, we have many member based customers who use our API to integrate key data into their membership database, providing a record of members’ attendance for CPD accreditation, for example.

Q: We use Salesforce.com as our business CRM, can I integrate my event data?

A: Yes, last year we launched our ‘CRM Connector’ at the Salesforce app exchange. This allows you to integrate attendee details and event history with Salesforce.com without needing any custom development.

Q: Which payment gateways can I use to process payments for my event?

A: Eventsforce seamlessly integrates with a number of major payment gateway providers including Sage Pay, Worldpay, Authroize.net, PayPal and many others.

Q: Isn’t integration time consuming and expensive?

A: The first thing I would say is be sure you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve before you start. We speak to many people who would like to ‘integrate’ their systems but have perhaps not spent enough time thinking about the full work flow, data flows etc.

Whilst there will always be some investment in the initial development to integrate your systems, once complete the benefits of removing the manual transfer of data, which allows for human error, as well as the automation of the full process, should greatly exceed the initial investment.
