Technical Support Team Insight – Embed a Google Map into your event website

Lots of people use Google Maps to help them get around. Whether it’s finding a location, planning a journey, or choosing travel type, Google Maps can be really useful, especially as it offers three map types which cover large portions of the world!

Advantages such as these haven’t been ignored by event professionals and many of our clients choose to embed Google Maps into their Eventsforce website to make it easier for people to get to their events. In Eventsforce this is a relatively easy thing to do, but in case any of you are unfamiliar with what you need to do, we’ve prepared some bullet points for you to follow. How to embed a Google Map into an Eventsforce Website

1: Visit Google Maps

2: Enter the location details which you require

3: Click Share > Embed map

4: Copy the highlighted code

5: Go to Website > Contents > Website Contents

6: On the page where you want the page to appear, hover over the “ADD HERE” button and select “Text Block” to create a new text block

7: From the Advanced drop-down in the menu bar select “Allow custom HTML code” and click OK.

8: Click the button in the menu  with the two arrows pointing away from each other < >  (source code) and paste the code into the box that appears

9: Click Save and the map will be embedded on your page
